Campus Emergency Information

Emergency Preparedness

The safety and well being of every individual on the campus of the University of the Ozarks is of utmost importance.  Each Ozarks’ community member is responsible for being prepared in the event of crisis.  If a major emergency occurs, the University will activate the campus emergency response systems and provide up-to-date information to the campus community.  Ozarks has made planning ahead for emergencies a priority and continues to expand and update our procedures in the development of our emergency response plan.  

The primary goals of the Ozarks emergency response plan are to:

Campus Notification Information

We are continuing to update our systems to inform the campus community during times of crisis in the most efficient and helpful manner possible.  During emergency or severe weather situations, general communication techniques that campus community members should be aware of are as follows:

  1. EAGLE ALERT -- electronic notification by text messaging, e-mail, and website notices
  2. Reverse 911 – Division and area office phones will receive a voice message EAGLE ALERT
  3. Direct Notification -- public address system, phone contact, door-to-door
  4. Emergency Alert Systems -- fire alarms or Civil Service Alarm System
  5. Regional Media Outlets

Campus Closings

In the event the campus is closed, the campus community will be notified by the campus EAGLE ALERT system and through regional media outlets.  Individuals with questions regarding closing information and campus events can also contact campus security at 479-979-2020.
